Kinase Family MAPKAPK

MAPKAPK = MAP Kinase Activated Protein Kinase. As named, these kinases are activated by MAPK. Three conserved subfamilies are found: MNK (containing mammalian MNK1 and MNK2), MK2 (containing MAPKAPK 2, 3) and MK5 (MAPKAPK5). All three subfamilies are metazoan-specific, and the proteins have no defined accessory domains.
