Kinase Classification: Group AGC: Family NDR

The NDR family has the following subfamilies:

Subfamily NDR

Subfamily LATS

  • AGC/NDR/RER?

HI - my name is Jon Goldberg, a Bioinformatics Scientist at The Broad Institute.

I would like to propose a new NDR subfamily that would include Baker's Yeast RIM15 and C.cinerea CC1G_14606 currently at kinase.com.

AGC/NDR/RER, where RER indicates the response regulator domain.

It turns out that these kinases are pan-fungal orthologs: I have seen good copies in Dermatophytes, S.pombe, and others. I will provide evidence when I get time. Since they are pan-fungal and have an interesting domain architecture, I think they deserve their own subfamily.
