Kinase Classification: HisK Group
The HisK group of kinases consists of typical histidine kinases found in 2-component bacterial signaling as well as many non-animal lineages, and the PDHK family of mitochondrial protein kinases, which maintains a histidine kinase fold but has altered specificity to phosphorylate serine.
