Kinase Family RSK

Kinase Classification: Group AGC: Kinase Family RSK

RSK are Ribosomal S6 Kinases, phosphorylating the S6 subunit of the cytoplasmic ribosome, and so controlling the rate of protein translation.

Three subfamilies of RSK are seen in most animals:

Subfamily RSKp70

The RSK and MSK subfamilies have two kinase domains, one from the AGC group and the other from the CAMK group, while p70S6K have a single AGC-group domain.
